Havana itself is rich in visuals but I chose a small street called Callejon de Hamel (Hamel Alley) richly adorned and fostered by a single Cuban artist Salvador Gonzáles Escalona who describes his Afro-Cuban style as a mix of surrealism, cubism, and abstract art. In this small set of images I focused on details on the street itself rather than the macro images. Subsequent sets will focus on walls on the Alley…stay tuned

Currently, LA is removing 200K feet of graffiti monthly and with it some great art that this visual hunter will not find again. The series shown in this gallery was from 2014…additional series will be posted in the future.

The five boroughs are a sea of wall art and much of the murals have been documented…and also have disappeared over the years. I had several visits to NYC in 2014 esp Brooklyn and compiled numbers of images …too many for website publication. I have divided the images into 5 series that will be published on this site in future posts.

A city of finite primary colors of homes on the hill sides. Another colorful part of the city is the seemingly infinite walls of legal graffiti…the large block type of which I am not visually interested in. So, exercising my visual hunting skills with the help of a driver, I managed to find a good series of unique wall art
